Nene Valley Railway is the UK’s leading international steam attraction,

based at Wansford Station, and covering the stations of Overton Orton Mere, Yarwell Junction, and Peterborough.

 

A living heritage railway, which is tended to by its loyal band of volunteers and a thriving attraction for the public to enjoy all year round.

Nene Valley Railway offers the chance to experience the thrill of riding a steam engine,

 learn about the railway’s history and see the picturesque surroundings of the Nene Valley area.

 

 

 

 

 

Requests for particular seats on the coach can be made when booking and we will do our best to accommodate these requests, but allocations are made on a first come first served basis, dependent upon customer mobility. We reserve the right to change your seat and allocate you a different one for operational reasons.

On single bookings, we reserve the right to alter your seating to maximize the seating available. We accept no liability in the event of any such change.

 

Accessibility at Nene Railway

• Full access is provided to most locations for disabled persons and most trains have a specially adapted carriage.

• Disabled toilet facilities are available at Wansford Station.

• Please note that our Swedish Railcar is unable to facilitate wheelchairs. This is due to the style of the railcar which sees her access doors sitting lower than the platform and ramps are therefore unable to be fitted. We can assist with boarding and alighting for those able to step down and and up as needed.

 

Day Trip Departures

 

Timetable

• Our timetables are unique. Bookings are taken throughout the year, approx. one month prior to travel we release the balance reminders and your final itinerary, including your pickup times. This allows us to ensure our pickup routes are kept to a minimum and our days run exactly to time.

• Commonly pickups start between 7.45am and 9.00am. We like to arrive at our destinations for approx. 11am.

• Commonly our departures from venues are between 4-5pm. Allowing us to return to our first drop off between 6-7pm.

• Please note, occasionally we use a feeder coach along our pickup routes to accommodate booking requests and keep our main coach pickup route to a minimum.
