Surrounded by the moat at the bottom of the valley are the romantic ruins of the medieval castle.
Perched at the top of the hill sits the 'new' house, a Victorian country home designed to take in the surrounding views of garden, castle and estate.
The romantic ruined medieval castle sits on its own moated island and forms the centrepiece of Edward Hussey III's visionary Picturesque garden.
With one of the largest and most eclectic collections in the National Trust the mansion house,
built in the mid-19th century by Edward Hussey III, combines the formality of Victo
rian design with the relaxed sociability of family life.
Requests for particular seats on the coach can be made when booking and we will do our best to accommodate these requests, but allocations are made on a first come first served basis, dependent upon customer mobility. We reserve the right to change your seat and allocate you a different one for operational reasons. On single bookings, we reserve the right to alter your seating to maximize the seating available. We accept no liability in the event of any such change.
