Start your unforgettable journey at the awe-inspiring Tyne Cot Cemetery and its visitor centre, set within the historic Ypres Salient, an area where Commonwealth, French, Belgian and German forces fought almost continuously throughout the First World War.
This powerful opening offers a moving insight into the scale and sacrifice of the conflict before continuing into the remarkable city of Ypres.
Completely destroyed during the war, the town has been carefully restored to its former beauty and today boasts the magnificent Cloth Hall, an impressive Saint Martin's Cathedral, and a charming medieval Market Square.
Despite its long and rich history, Ypres is best known for the events of just over a century ago,
standing as the unofficial capital of Flanders Fields and a focal point for remembrance.
We will drop you in the centre of Ypres where you can explore at your leisurebrowse local shops, stroll the cobbled streets, or enjoy a traditional Flemish meal in one of the many restaurants surrounding the Grote Markt.
You may also choose to visit the In Flanders Fields Museum, where the story of the war is brought vividly to life.
As evening falls, the City of Peace continues its daily act of remembrance beneath the Menin Gate Memorial.
Night after night, the Last Post sounds in tribute to the soldiers who fell, ensuring their sacrifice is never forgotten,
an emotional and unforgettable finale to a day filled with history, reflection, and discovery.

European Unions (EU) new Entry/Exit System
From 12 October 2025, the European Unions (EU) new Entry/Exit System (EES) will begin.
This is a new digital border system that will change requirements for British citizens travelling to the Schengen area.
If you are travelling to a country in the Schengen area for a short stay using a UK passport, you will be required to register your biometric details,
such as fingerprints and a photo, when you arrive.
You do not need to take any action before you arrive at the border, and there is no cost for EES registration.
After it is fully implemented, EES registration will replace the current system of manually stamping passports when visitors arrive in the EU.
You may also require a ETIAS travel authorisation - this scheme has not started yet, please use the link to find information.
Once we are aware this is required we will contact those booked on to European tours - it is then INDIVDUALS responsibility
to ensure they have applied and been approved.
