Allington Castle is possibly one of Kent's best kept secrets. The 13th century medieval castle is nestled in 42 acres of beautiful gardens adjacent to the River Medway. The privately-owned estate with Italian gardens, lavender walk, parterres, courtyard & formal ponds, surrounded by a moat and fronted by two lakes, really is an incredible place to visit.
Departing from our mooring adjacent to the Archbishops' palace in Maidstone the Kentish Lady Cruises down river (with commentary) to a private mooring at the castle estate. Here passengers disembark and are met by castle staff to begin their guided tour. The tour takes approximately 1.5hrs and is predominantly a walking tour, suitable footwear and attire must be worn.
At the end of the tour its back on-board the Kentish Lady for tea, coffee and cakes before heading back to our mooring in Maidstone
