Ideas for Your Visit

Museum of Oxford

Located inside Oxford’s Grade II–listed Town Hall, this museum tells the story of Oxford

and its people through exhibitions about the city’s history, culture, and community.

Ashmolean Museum
Opened in 1683, it is Britain’s first public museum and the world’s first university museum. Its collections span from 500,000 BC to the present day, including Egyptian mummies and the world’s greatest collection of drawings by Raphael.

Bodleian Libraries
The largest academic library system in the UK, the Bodleian has been used by generations of famous scholars. Those who have studied in its reading rooms include monarchs, Nobel Prize winners, British Prime Ministers, and renowned writers such as Oscar Wilde, C. S. Lewis, and J. R. R. Tolkien.
